Creating Value Through Collaboration

It’s obvious as you step through the front doors: Bailey Brand Consulting is a little different. Yes, the big red bus in the front of the office is a quirky and lighthearted surprise, but as you continue to move through the studio, an energy emerges. Design concepts are splattered along the walls for all to see; group tables are filled with clusters of people, sharing ideas and murmuring away. It seems that here at Bailey, collaboration is everywhere, and it isn’t just encouraged, it is innate. But how did we get here?

Collaboration is not just an objective; it is a foundation of our creative process.

Bailey’s natural integration of collaboration within our branding process derives from the understanding that branding is a field driven by people and their choices. Because of this, branding in itself is a collaborative effort, the concept of sharing a product or idea, having others like or dislike it, and moving forward with that information to deliver on what the consumer wants. Without sharing ideas and receiving feedback, the marketplace would lose its excitement, challenge, and most importantly innovation. This is the basis of branding and consumerism, and this is what we strive to reflect within our methodologies at Bailey — collaboration leads to excitement, challenge, and innovation.

What sets Bailey Brand Consulting apart from other agencies is that we are a team of talented, passionate brand architects who confidently believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. So, it is fitting that our process involves collaboration at every stage, and not just internal collaboration, but also externally with our clients and strategic partners. Here is a snapshot of how collaboration occurs in our daily process:

  1. Vision first. We start each project by mapping out the goals and directives between all members of the project team.
  2. Everyone researches and shares information. The entire project team is immersed in the brand and respective landscape.
  3. Implementation begins when the knowledge that has been accumulated is combined with the designers’ creativity.
  4. The team reconvenes and goes over the progress, provides opinions and insight, and speaks openly. Sometimes it’s a mini-meet or a short email between a few team members to solicit quick feedback, other times it’s a sit-down with the entire project team to review and discuss progress. This process repeats until we feel confident that we are generating great work that supports the brand and will thrill the client.

Glamorous or revolutionary? Maybe not. Time-tested and effective? You bet. Through constant communication, strategically appointed teams, and a clear vision, Bailey is able to continually incorporate collaboration throughout every project we do. And because of this, the end result that we are able to deliver to our client is undoubtedly Bailey Approved, and something we are all proud of.
